June Meeting Report

June 26, 2014

Kerry Thompson, Amy Tams, Jamie Frischknecht, Tyna-Minet Anderson, and Jessica Anderson attended our June meeting. Kerry hosted and served her own delicious raspberries over ice cream with cookies made by her grandchildren. Yum!

We discussed North and South, by Elizabeth Gaskell. Everyone enjoyed it and liked that it had a bit more “meat” and social commentary to it than some of the other books from the same period.

Then, we moved on to selecting books for the next few months. This is always a fun, if difficult, process. Here’s what we came up with:

August – The Color of Water, by James McBride
September – The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer
October – The Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling and The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman
November/December – Longing for Home, by Sarah M. Eden
January – Murder on the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie
