April Meeting Report

April 24, 2012

Kerry Thompson, Amy Tams, Lorraine Peck, Dianna Graham, and Jessica Anderson attended our April meeting. Kerry hosted, had some of her friends join us, and served a scrumptious dessert.

We had a good discussion centered around both Shanghai Girls and Dreams of Joy, by Lisa See. We discussed Chinese history, particularly the Japanese invasion and the revolution, as well as Chinese immigration in the United States. Then the talk shifted to The Hunger Games movie and the ethics of reading. All in all, a lovely bookish night.

Next up, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy.
